Hello,
After rebooting Windows 2000, SQL Server 2000 starts but
agent does not start. What might be the reason?
Thanks,
Jim,have you checked the agent log and the Windows application log? You may find
the error message there

related to issues with Mail profiles.

Verify both the SQL Agent and Windows Event viewer system logs, I feel the
problem that the problem will be
with service startup account.
Can you verify the service startup account, I suggest you to have identical
Domain Login for both SQL server and SQL Agent services.
Please retype the password and then try to start the service.
Thanks

I know this may sound silly but is it a simple case of the SQLAgent service
is not set to Automatic? Perhaps it is set to Manual so that you manually ha
ve to start it after the server boots up.
